Scavenger Hunt Sunday Photo Challenge - May 1, 2011

Here are my scavenger hunt photos for this week's photo challenge.
It was another fun challenge .

1. Architecture

I LOVE old buildings.

"They don't make 'em like they used to."

2. Rimmed with Light

I have never tried this technique before and am not sure if I did it
correctly but I kind of like it. The flowers look like they are glowing.

3. Feet

The feet of my nine year old after a fun time exploring.

4. This is my favourite

Spring is definitely my favourite season and when
this tree flowers, it always marks the beginning of Spring.

5. Shades

The future's so bright I've got to wear shades

The Blog

In an effort to improve my picture taking skill, I accepted the challenge to take a picture every day for a year. Now that the year is 1/3 over, I, frankly, am surprised to still be doing it 120 days later. But I love it. My goal was to become more consistent about documenting every day people, things and events rather than just special occasions.

Because I can be rather disorganized, I decided to start a blog to keep track of all of these pictures. I also started doing Sunday Scavenger Hunt Photo Challenges and a few others just for fun. They are on the blog too. Now that I have this newfound hobby, I want to save up for a real camera. In the mean time, I will just keep practicing. Please check it out when you have a chance and please leave comments, constructive critisims and encouragements. They are mostly pictures of my kids and my life, which can be boring for anyone outside of the immediate family. So, thanks for taking the time to take a look. If you click on any picture, it will be shown larger and up close.

#120 Royal Wedding

My eight year old daughter was absolutely fascinated
with all the hoopla surrounding the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate. It was the first time she
realized that there are real life princesses. Their wedding even
looked like the storybooks. Here is her rendition of the big day.

American Gothic Redone- Just Because

On the left is the famous painting "American Gothic". On the
right is our very sad imitation "Canadian Gothic". Yes, I made
them do it. I wanted a do-over, they refused. I think it is
hilarious. The participants don't.

April 19/ #109 Hunting "Wabbits"

My son saw a couple of rabbits in the yard and
decided to catch them. I told him that if he caught
one, I would cook it for dinner. This made him very excited.
I was pretty sure I should plan something else for
dinner since he went "hunting" while yelling at the
rabbit and chasing it. For the picture, I asked him to make his
meanest hunting face. I am not sure what he planned
to do with the hockey stick or the tennis racket. I think if
he was actually able to touch a rabbit, he would freak out.
The rabbits were quite safe after all. Mission failed this time.
We had hamburger.

Here is what I came up with this time.

Various clocks around the house.

2. Poetry
A very old Book of Poetry and the chicken is because,
instead of poetry, my husband thought it should be "poultry" because
he's weird like that.

3. Outside
Hydro Towers

4. Zoom or From the Car

Rainy Day

House from Rear view Mirror
